in 1990, as a way to store the accumulation of word play, riddles and
jokes we had compiled through the years.
Trivial
Trivia is our collection of weird facts and unusual information, much
of it is totally useless unless one is training for Jeopardy or a trivia
contest.
Chicago
Collections is a huge resource about Chicago. A little history, some
quotations and song lyrics, and links to great Chicago area attractions.
DesignWeb
started because people liked our web sites and asked for help in designing
theirs. We are currently taking new clients only on a very selective basis.
TC
is Tony's artwork. He doesn't sell it & doesn't answer his email,
so don't even bother.
Our
Garden is a work in progress. It's what we've learned about installing
and maintaining a koi pond in our back yard. There are lots of pictures
of our pond and plants we've had success with in a shady yard, in the
brutal weather of the Chicago area.

Alexander
the Great's "Crown," Shield Discovered?
An ancient Greek tomb
thought to have held the body of Alexander the Great's father is actually
that of Alexander's half brother, researchers say.This may mean that some
of the artifacts found in the tomb—including
a helmet, shield, and silver "crown"—originally belonged to Alexander
the Great himself.

German photographer Hugo Brehme is considered one of
the outstanding photographers of Mexico. He was born in Germany
in 1882 and died in Mexico in 1954. For over 40 years Brehme celebrated
Mexico's natural beauty in his scenic landscapes.

Darlington Family Photographs
The Darlington Family online collection contains 155 photographs taken
by Edith Dennison Darlington Ammon and her brother, O'Hara Darlington,
from 1885 through 1888. Photographs contained within the five albums
document family, friends, leisure activities, and the artistic approach
to photography that both Edith and O'Hara shared.

The Canals of Venice, Los Angeles
Orginally called Venice of America, the Venice district
of Los Angeles was founded on July 4th, 1905
by local developer Abbot
Kinney who had numerous canals dug
as a tribute to the orginal Venice, Italy and also as a way drain the
marshes to aid in developing the area.
Birth of "Venice of America" (1890-1906)
In the 1890’s, one man’s dream of a renaissance resort and
amusement park transformed a deteriorating marshland west of Los Angeles,
California, into the "Coney Island of the Pacific". Despite disbelief and
opposition, the dreams of Abbot Kinney materialized in grand style.
